Audio Books
Yes, we have audio books!
We have audio books in
both CD and MP3 format for many of your favorite authors.
We have fiction and
non-fiction titles, as well as abridged and unabridged versions.

our online catalog
and

Yes, we have MP3
CDs!
MP3 technology enables 12 times the
sound to be put on an MP3 than can be put on
a regular compact disc. An unabridged audio book that would require
24
regular CDs to
record
would take only 2 MP3 CDs. Just think how many audio books
on
MP3 you can carry
with you!
And the cost savings is significant, too,
so the library can
buy more titles!
You will
need an MP3 CD player to play MP3 CDs.
Players and car kits are available in stores.
(Packaging will indicate MP3 compatibility.)
What do 'abridged' and 'unabridged'
mean?
'Unabridged' means that the audio
version has been reproduced exactly
as it appears in the text version.
'Abridged'
means that some parts of the text have been left out in the audio version.
Often the credits
on the back of the audio book will tell you if it is
an abridgement, but check our catalog if you are not sure. Look at the
item's edition or notes entries to see.
