Be sure to stop by the Library for information or visit us on the web at www.bedlib.org. Reading throughout the summer helps children return to school without summer reading loss. Get a New Look at OverDrive!
Fans of our OverDrive digital eBook and audiobook downloading service at the Indiana Digital Download Center will have noticed that the website has gotten a new, streamlined look. The website still offers all the conveniences of the original site, while adding new features that make the download process even easier than before.
The Menu icon expands and collapses an easy-to-browse list of items, sorted into convenient categories. "Bookshelf," "Holds," "Lists," and "Settings" (7- or 14-day loans) are all accessible from the Account area. In addition, the updated website now offers easier 1-click downloading and browser-reading options. Simply find a book to borrow and click the "Borrow" button to automatically check it out according to the borrowing preferences selected in the "Settings" section mentioned above. When it appears in the "Bookshelf" area, you can choose to "Download" the book to a device or software program, or you can read it directly from your device’s web browser.
There is no need to download extra software or create accounts, and the browser reader has customizing options similar to most eReader devices! Finished before the expiration date? Return the title early at the click of a button from your "Bookshelf" page. It’s never been easier to borrow and download books!

Be Smart about Preventing Skin Cancer
According
to the American Academy of
Dermatology, skin cancer is on the rise. That's why early skin-cancer
screenings are an important step in the prevention of this disease. Screenings
done in your doctor's office or medical facility could help identify unusual or
changing moles so that diagnosis and treatment could be done as soon as
possible.
The Olcott Center, a unique cancer-care center at Indiana University Health Cancer Centers in Bloomington, is offering free skin-cancer screenings by appointment on Wednesday, May 22, and Thursday, May 23, from 5-7p. The screenings will be located at 811 West 2nd Street in Bloomington. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please call 812-353-5669.
