Indiana State Park Pass Now At the Library!

Friday, January 8, 2016

Thanks to a new Indiana State Parks program, Hoosiers have the opportunity to visit a state park this year with a little help from the public library.

The State Park Centennial Annual Pass Library Check-out Program offered one state park entrance pass to each of the 240 libraries across Indiana. The program was created as a partnership between Indiana State Parks and the Indiana State Library to celebrate the State Parks 100th anniversary and encourage people to visit both libraries and parks.

The Bedford Public Library has one park pass available to check out. Throughout 2016, Bedford Public Library adults and teens may check out the park pass for one week, no renewals. Online catalog users can also find the "Indiana Department of Natural Resources Parks Pass" in our catalog and place a hold on it. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so reservations for specific dates are not available. Late return fees will be charged at a rate of $1 per day, and a replacement fee of $50 would be added if the pass were lost or not returned. Ask us for more details.

The pass provides free access to Indiana’s 32 state parks and also to Indiana’s state forest recreation areas where entrance fees are charged. The pass will be available for checkout until December 31.
